How HumanPresent™ Technology Works

The HumanPresent™ technology is based upon an architecture which is extremely flexible in application implementation, and is also very easy to deploy.  The HumanPresent™ solution consists of the following components:
 
 
HumanPresentTM APIs :
HumanPresent™ APIs are extremely easy to integrate into Web pages, scalable to fit any customer's traffic load, capable of working with extremely low overhead, and fully adaptable to allow for additional features and future capabilities.
 
Pramana Server :
The Pramana server consists of the Dynamic Code Morpher and the HumanPresent™ Algorithm, together with the Genetic and Heuristic-Based Correlation Engine.  These integrate to verify and separate the human traffic from the automated traffic, like bot detection software, and then mediate between the two — while remaining completely transparent to human end users.
 
The application transport between users and client sites is monitored by HumanPresent™ APIs to detect malicious automated traffic while also providing click fraud tracking, click fraud auditing, and bot removal service.

 

  • Dynamic Code Morpher: Pramana has designed an approach which not only detects current hacking technologies, but allows for constant evolution to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threats. Pramana’s Dynamic Code Morpher technology uses the same simple subtle approach that bot-masters use, varying the different strategies of human-behavior-detection for each page request  — making it very difficult for hackers to adapt.  Additionally, the code on every page is encrypted, to provide yet another hurdle for code readers.
  • Correlation Engine: The Genetic- and Heuristic-Based Correlation Engine is a plug-and-play mechanism, which adapts and learns based upon the traffic patterns of each environment.  Stackable categories of strategies are utilized to allow this plug-and-play mechanism to seamlessly interact with the rest of the HumanPresent™ framework.

 
Human Behavior Index
 
The HumanPresent™ solution passes to the application an aggregate Human Behavior Index.  This enables the client to manage their traffic to their own desired level of confidence.  This gives great flexibility in implementation.  It also conceals the detection so effectively that the automated traffic can be staged to a sandbox area, where it will not do any harm to the actual application environment — leaving the hackers unaware that they have been caught.
 
The HumanPresent™ algorithm utilizes the collected data to employ new and even more effective methods of detecting malicious traffic.  It also takes the various false positives and false negatives from each environment it is deployed in, yielding greater efficiency and extremely low rates of false positives, for the highest possible level of security.
 
Finally, Pramana has developed an easy-to-use management GUI which easily allows you to manage traffic by tagging suspect user activity so it can be rejected, diverted, or analyzed separately.  The response to tagged traffic can also be controlled – from employing challenge questions to simply blocking suspect traffic, the response is entirely at your discretion.
